Emancipation Proclamation

Title

Emancipation Proclamation

Description

The Willimantic Journal and Windham County Transcript support the Emancipation Proclamation. “The dawn of 1863 is also the dawn of liberty to the oppressed; and this “great light,” beheld by those “who sat in darkness,” is evidence that the bloody teachings of the last two years have not been in vain.”
