Conclusion

Willimantic was a hotspot as a community, with many different forms of cultural infrastructure bringing it together. People from all walks of life could partake in practically anything they set their mind to. No wonder it was such a booming city in 1910!

However, if we look at cultural infrastructure today in Willimantic, much has changed. Most societies and organizations are no longer in operation. However, with Eastern Connecticut State University here, we are privileged to see an expansion of performing arts, and other areas of cultural expression. Jillson Square is particularly a popular place nowadays, with numerous musical acts taking the stage in warmer weather for residents both near and far.
