The Model School, located near the State Normal School, was built for education students from the Normal School to practice student teaching.

History
The Model School officially opened its doors on September 7, 1909. It provided Windham Normal School students with opportunities to do their student teaching. Like the name suggests, it was a school that modeled general education. According to the State Normal School Training Catalog for 1909-1910, "Said board may establish and mantain model schools under permanent teachers approved by it, in which the pupils of the normal schools shall have an opportunity to practice modes of instruction and discipline". In order to graduate, teaching students had to do directed observation of all grades in model and training schools.
In 1924, the Model School burnt down and later in 1928 it was replaced with Noble Hall which became part of Eastern Connecticut State University. The new building was named after Frederick R. Noble who was long-time principal of the Model School.
