The high school in Willimantic in 1910 was located at the intersection of Windham Street and Prospect Street.

History

The high schools of the First and Second district were united to form Windham High School in 1888. The first class graduated in June of 1889. 

Subjects Taught

Windham High School offered schooling for students in grades 9-12. The students were able to experience the core subjects such as English, Mathematics, Science, and History. However, courses such as Latin, Greek, German, and Commerical (teaching clerical skills) were also offered. Music was also a course students could take. The building had 17 different classrooms on two floors. According to historian Allen B. Lincoln in "A modern history of Windham county, Connecticut: a Windham county treasure book" written in 1920, Windham High School was open to receiving students from other towns as well.

Changes

In 1910, the beginning of the school year in September was deferred a week because of ongoing construction. A new annex was still under construction and other alterations to the original building were being made. These would continue into 1914.
