Natchaug School
One of the main schools in Willimantic was Natchaug School, lcoated in the eastern part of town.

Kindergarten to Eighth grade. This school included a high school until 1897.
History
The Natchaug School was preceeded by the Old Stone House. In 1865, a wooden structure known as "Old Natchaug" was built and dedicated. Later in June of 1914 the structure was torn down for the construction of a brick building which is still standing to this day.
1910-1911 School Year
Like other schools in the area, Natchaug School began the academic term on Tuesday September 6th, 1910. According to Principal Harroun in an interview for The Willimantic Chronicle, there were 295 students registered compared an average of 330 students in the past. Even though the school had fewer students than average, the prinicipal made a distinction that the kindergarten class registered was the biggest one that year in the school's history. Each grade was assigned to a specific classroom.
